BACKUP YOUR FILES OFTEN. OpenIV currently can corrupt GTA V audio files, albeit rarely.

Proof of concept for gun sound replacement made possible by the latest OpenIV update. This replaces the sounds of the Pistol, Combat Pistol, and .50 Pistol with new, high-quality, beefier sounds for more powerful gunplay. Best when used with a weapon rebalance mod.

First time modding GTA V's sounds, so this serves as more of just a concept of how intricate sound modding can get.

To install:
1. Start OpenIV
2. Enable Edit Mode.
3. Go to x64/audio/sfx/WEAPONS_PLAYER
4. Extract the "vdvweaponsounds.zip" file to your desktop. Open it
5. Open "WEAPONS_PLAYER"
6. Drag the three .oac files in it to your WEAPONS_PLAYER directory
7. Go back to "vdvweaponsounds"
8. Open "RESIDENT.rpf"
9. In OpenIV, go to x64/audio/sfx/RESIDENT
10. Drag the "weapons.oac" file from vdvweaponsounds to the RESIDENT directory in OpenIV
11. Click "Edit Mode" again then exit OpenIV
