Description about surf_snowslide Map v1.0 for CSGO:
Download mod surf_snowslide Map v1.0 for CSGO game.
A great addition added to the game Counter Strike-Global Offensive game is surf_snowslide Map, which can be downloaded for free and without registration. You can also see other maps from the category GS:GO maps or go to the main section CS:GO mods.
A Skill Surf map based around an Astronomical Observatory
Currently, the map contains 3 stages. For server owners, I have made triggers for the plugins so that the zones are already made.
My goal was to approach skill surf in a different way than the traditional abstract style, where straight ramps and occasional bends (horizontal/vertical) dominate the mappool. I wanted to create surf ramps that are not merely straight, but more twisted. I also wanted to theme it around something a bit more realistic and existing, rather than in space or in some futuristic setting.
It might not be the best skill surf map out there, but I tried to do something different, so in that regard perhaps this entry may be of some interest or educational purpose to some. You can actually freeroam around the building on stage 2 to your liking, although for now it's solely for viewing around the observatory.
State of the submissionDespite the contest being extended for about a month, I came too short on time to finish the entry as I intended it to be, so many things are still not working as intended. Known issues are:
- 3D Skybox mountains not included (in this version)
- Stage 3 has 3D Skybox clipping issues (in this version)
- Rarely, you may get stuck on 2 ramps (the first and third one from stage 1)
- Many (blend) textures their alpha's haven't been finished properly. Isn't a big deal, but it was intended to give the map more juicy details.
- Poor lighting in indoor-areas (such as tunnel of stage 2 and 3)
Lastly, there are certain shadow spots occuring due to displacements. While not very attractive, they aren't all over the place, and I will look into a solution for the future.
Overall, the map was full playable, and I could reach the end on stage 3 on my own (with poor skill in skill surf), so in THEORY it should be fully playable.
Enjoy and have fun!
