EMD SD70ACU Norfolk Southern - is a product of Norfolk Southern’s innovative remanufacturing program at its legendary Altoona Shops in Pennsylvania. Originally built as EMD SD90MAC locomotives between 1995 and 2000, these six-axle (C-C) diesels were powered by either the 4,300-horsepower 710-series engine or the problematic 6,000-horsepower 265H twin-turbo engine.
