Electric Train DepoT ER2 for TSC - is a detailed add-on that brings the Soviet-era ER2 electric multiple unit (EMU) to the game, specifically tailored for fans of Russian and post-Soviet railway systems. The ER2, produced by the Riga Railroad Machinery Plants from 1962 to 1984, was a cornerstone of suburban rail transport in the Soviet Union and its successor states. This mod replicates the train with a focus on authenticity and immersion, offering players a chance to experience this iconic train in various configurations and liveries.
Features Electric Train DepoT ER2:High-Quality Model and Textures:
Detailed 4-car or multi-car configurations, based on real-world photographic references.
Realistic exterior textures with depot-specific liveries, such as:
ER2-1120: Features overhauled lights and an unusual RVR logo with a gray stripe across the mask.
ER2-1126: Includes new parking lights, grids on projectors, and unique light boxes above windows, with a gray stripe and orange mask.
ER2-1256: Classic ER2 design with a gray stripe and protective light grids.
EM2-009 (Moscow 2): Modernized with protective grids on all lights and volumetric windows for a realistic look.
ER2-1212: Unique livery with graffiti effects that increase with aging or repainting in-game.
High-definition interior textures with authentic designs, including redesigned cabins for specific depots.
Enhanced Sound Design:
Completely overhauled sound package with more individual sounds compared to earlier ER2 mods, including engine noises, door operations, and ambient effects.
Implementation of an informer system that announces door closings, enhancing realism.
Sounds reflect real-world prototypes, such as traction motor hums and environmental noises.
Realistic Systems and Controls:
Sequential startup of devices and auxiliary machines, mimicking the real ER2's operation.
Functional braking system with Electro-Pneumatic Train (EPT) control.
Limited implementation of the CLUB-U indication system, providing basic operational feedback.
Traction motor protection features, such as wheelslip and overload relays, which affect acceleration and trigger warning lights or bells, as described in real ER2 designs.
Unique Features and Details:
Dynamic aging effects, including graffiti that appears on trains like ER2-1330 and ER2-1212 over time or through in-game repainting.
Protective grids on lights and overhauled light designs for select trains (e.g., ER2-1120 and ER2-1126).
Volumetric windows with realistic pressed designs, particularly on EM2-009.
Depot-specific details, such as curtains on tail cabs and unique interior layouts.
Authentic liveries reflecting historical and regional variations, like the blue-gray livery of ER2-524 "Neva" or the sandy yellow and dark red of ER2-574 for southern railroads
Description of the sound pack (general): the coasting (running-on) sound is different on the head and trailer, and on the motor one (the sound of the traction electric motors rumbling on the coast at different speeds is different and the tone changes with speed). The clattering on the head and trailer is different, and on the motor one is different (heavier). The sound of the wind appears in the cabin depending on the speed, the sound has been replaced with a new one. A fundamentally new creaking-whistle-grinding of the bogie has been implemented, the same on all cars. For the whistle, the curves are configured so that for certain radii the creaking and grinding can be played, but there may be no whistle. Also regarding the grinding, in smoother curves the knocking of the bogie should be heard, i.e. single knocks are implemented when the bogie turns a little. Moreover, the grinding fully implements the sound of the bogie rotation, i.e. you can hear when the bogie has turned and when the bogie has returned to its original position.
The rumble and blooper of the automatic coupling has been implemented, it is triggered when passing curves of a certain radius. The rumble of the automatic coupling when starting off has been redesigned and changed, now it is tied to the controller positions, i.e. when switching from M and further to 4, the automatic coupling will rumble, simulating the "pushing" of cars. In the cabin, when switching the controller to M, there will be its own internal rumble sound simulating the rumble transmitted through the body, and when resetting the positions to zero, the same thing happens. Occlusion (noise suppression level) for the salons and the cabin is different. In the vestibules, the rumble of the automatic coupling should be very clearly audible, and closer to the middle of the salon, it should be almost inaudible.
The sound of the VU (vacuum cleaner) I do not know what to call it correctly, it is fixed, now the loop of the sound is not audible there, the range is adjusted. In principle, the playback range has been completely reworked for all sounds and the position of the sound sources has been slightly adjusted where possible. That is, you can pay attention, for example, to the sound of the "vacuum cleaner", the closer you are to the car, the louder it is and you can easily determine its position by the sound, as well as the compressor.
Now about the modifications on repaints. (1140 and 1158) (1160 1166) (1154 1206) the sound of opening / closing the doors is different, the sound of acceleration is different. On 1140 and 1158 their own sound of the auxiliary compressor. Each car has its own compressor sound. Almost every car has its own sound of the typhon and whistle.
All the toggle switches, buttons and switches in the cabin have been re-sounded. Many thanks to Alexey for connecting the sounds. Regarding the sound pack, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Igor for bringing me into the development of the PS and laying the foundation, so to speak. Many thanks to Konstantin and Rus for helping me clear up dead-end situations, sharing methods, and also teaching me a lot.
